Food: Overnight Oats For All / by photos bycorona

For such a long time I have felt so inspired by food. Inspired by the way light falls into the different layers of the translucent skin of onions. Inspired by the way steam flies up to the sky when boiling water for tea. But my major and biggest inspiration is for sure the magic that goes between food and people: "Magic Gatherings" that are full with pure joy for caring and nourishing the people we love.

I owned countless, and I am serious by countless, cooking books. Odly enough, I am not that much into the actual cooking BUT thankfully, my husband is! So we make a pretty good team, he cooks ,,, I devour.

I have a passion to share with you easy delicious and nutritious recipes and some other ones not too easy but incredibly mouthwatering. My purpose to share recipes with very good visuals (how humble of me to say that!)  is for both of us, you and I,  to walk together and stop being afraid of experimenting in the kitchen, to cook more, to stop more, to nourish ourselves and our loved ones more. I want you to be super excited every week or so to read my posts and to get ready to stop time for a bit and be present, to share time with a loved one making these and to spread the word to your buddies about these posts!

Also, I hope with all my heart you take a recipe or two or three that you love and gather around friends and have long deep conversations and share very special times together.

Thank you so much for reading and I look forward to continue walking this path with you of personal growth and self-care.

Do you want your recipe to be featured on the blog?! I want to hear all about it.

Overnight Oats For All

With the help of my good friend Kaitlyn Mahoney I put together this recipe to start up this food series of some simple and other not so simple meals with the intention to motivate others to nourish their bodies and friendships while enjoying these yummy meals.

So, let's start!

You will need as many Wide mouth Mason jars with lids as you want to have your oatmeal ready! I usually make about 4 at a time for the week.

PB & Banana Oats

1/2 cup of oats

1 cup of your milk of choice (whole, almond, rice, coconut milk.. you decide!)

1 TBSP of chia seeds

1 TBSP of peanut butter of your choice ( almond butter, peanut butter, cashew butter, you name it!)

1/2 Banana cut into your preferred shape.

* I like to add some chopped walnuts for a bit of extra crunch!

Berry Delicious Oats

1/2 cup of oats

1 cup of your milk of choice (whole, almond, rice, coconut milk.. you decide!)

1 TBSP of chia seeds

1 TSP of vanilla concentrate

1 TSP of honey drizzle on top

A handful of blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries cut into your preferred shape.

* I like to add some chopped almonds for a bit of extra crunch!

Other ingredients you can add to the mix:

Cocoa Powder or few chocolate chips

Protein Powder

Coconut flakes

Cold Brew (So good!)

Add all of your ingredients. You can add a bit more milk if you like your oatmeal more watery. Let them rest for at least 5 hours but preferably overnight on the fridge. And ready! so easy and yummy!

I try to mix and match types of milks and nuts to make it into a surprise on a mason jar every morning.. what a nerd of me.

I am so excited for you to try this! If you do, don't forget to tag #cookingwithmaria
