Photographing this beautiful family is so special to me. Not only because they are the fantastic 5 but because I have been honored to photograph their family throught time since their first baby girl came to this world.

The magic to capture time, love and tenderness and they way they become one in photographs is something that I will never take for granted. So, go ahead and scroll down! Check out one of my all time favorite intimate newborn sessions on film and digital.

The Asay Family by photos bycorona

I had the opportunity to meet Lauren while we were both in College studying Art. We traveled together to NYC and lived there at the same time. Since then, I have always admired her work and who she is. We both moved to different states and I couldn't be happier to photograph her as a mom while she visited Utah this summer.

The more I have the opportunity to tell stories the more I crave to find out what family love feels and that will always fuel the search to translate those feelings into images to tell YOUR story.

 The Asay Family.

Check out Lauren's amazing work at Ros Co. Design.

The Sukhan Family Session At Home by photos bycorona

Every time I find myself scrolling through Pinterest or even through the squares of Instagram I always end up feeling the same.. aching for real and raw imagery.  I ache for the lack to tell the true family stories that are perfectly imperfect. So there I was, photographing one of the most beautiful families I have had the chance to tell their story.  The moment they opened their door we felt and instant click, like seriously! It was a-mazing!

So, cheers for beautiful energy! Cheers for the tender yet crazy moments. Cheers for imperfection. Cheers for embracing true stories that make our hearts beat.

Welcome Home Baby Scout. Cheers to you!

Welcome To The World Baby Mya | In-Home Session by photos bycorona

.. there is truly nothing more magical than a new baby girl.

The more I photograph the more I love and the more I crave those moments in between that I like to call the gold transitions. I think about it like the road of life, there are great moments, moments when we laugh, when we cry, when we love; but the truth is, the moments we will cherish with all of our heart are the moments in between big successes and between heartaches. Those moments make us who we are. Those moments are gold.

I flew to Seattle to met and photographed sweet tiny Baby Mya at 3 weeks old. Mya is half Zambian and half Korean. Everything about her made me heart beat!, can we start talking about that beautiful hair? her chubby cheeks, and her sweet gaze.

Welcome to this world Baby Mya Jae Linnell-Chileshe! Keep scrolling down to see more of a day with Baby Mya.

Little Mya, you are so loved.

And now they are five.

Welcome Home Baby Diego. by photos bycorona

When we first discovered you were on your way, you brought this brand new feeling to our family, your family. The feeling of true happiness. Days kept passing by and I couldn't even deal with the fact that I was going to be an aunt of a sweetest little boy!

I have a special angel up in the stars that I know you met before coming to this earth and I know I will never understand why some things happen but I know that you came to my world when my heart needed you the most. I wanna think she show you the way to us, and that you got to meet one of the most special friends in my life.

The day you arrived was without a doubt one of the greatest days of my life, my sister had made an angel in the form of you, a beautiful baby boy, a bundle of joy, my little nephew.

We have such hopes for you, for all the things we know you’ll do, shoot for the moon and play among stars. School won’t be that far and then you’ll have your first car, your first girlfriend and most likely your first hear break. Even you won’t believe how fast you’ve grown, a smart young man with a mind of his own, remember to love and appreciate all you have, to know that families are everything, and know there’s nothing in this world for you too tough.

When I first held you I fell in love, and even though I know you won’t need me that much as a great mommy and daddy you have, remember your auntie Maria is always there when push comes to shove, You are the cutest bundle of unconditional love and even though I never thought another being could affect me as much as somebody as small as you, I was so incredibly wrong, you shook my world.

You are my everything and I care about you more than I can explain. It is an amazing feeling to fell all this love inside of me since you came to this earth.

You’ll never be alone you’ll always have your auntie my little Diego.

love,

aunt maria

Birth story: Little Henry David Tuttle by photos bycorona

I had a big opportunity a couple months ago to photograph little Henry David's birth story.  I remember getting a text early morning around 6 am. My friend Cassidy was in labor! So naturally I jumped out of bed, put on some leggings and gathered my gear and sped out the door as fast as I could and drove to the hospital.  Little Henry David was taking his time and enjoying his last hours listening to his mom's heart beat. The closest he will ever be.

Every time I look back in time, I reassure myself I am the luckiest. I get to be in a room full of love with no bad vibes, no bad thoughts; only love. It felt like such a peaceful transition, you might think of course Maria is saying peaceful, she is not pushing a baby out but believe me, a delivery room is real magic and it has been one of the greatest experiences I have ever felt.

Baby boy, Henry David, was born around 12:15 pm.  I am so grateful I was able to witness such a miracle. It was amazing.

A close friend of yours is expecting a little peanut? I promise you, to have vivid memories of such an amazing day might be the most beautiful treasure for you and your little family.

love,

m.

The Galindo Cervantes Familia by photos bycorona

Some of my absolute favorite things to photograph is families in their own little home, to witness the beautiful mess of having little toes running around all over,  the smell and warmth of home sweet home, the everyday activities and run arounds from mom, the unexpected hugs and giggles, the morning routines, and the love that is uniquely shared so intimately at home.

While in México, this beautiful family allowed me to witness all the sweetness you can imagine and I couldn't feel more privileged to witness it through my camera.

Meet Paco, Eli and little Victoria

The Fantastic Five: Dorantes Family by photos bycorona

There are thousands of news reports on TV and on the Internet about [the dangers and tragedies of] México, but let me share a different image of my country with you. Every time I think about México, I remember its beauty and resilience. When I go back home, I look at families, and oh boy! They are beautiful, united through good and bad, tragic and triumphant, bitter and sweet. And their love never gives up.

Yes, life isn't perfect, but it's the moments that count. It's the in-between times. That's when life happens, and we need to learn to stop and notice those in-betweens, right?

I was lucky enough to photograph this beautiful family in México, the Dorantes Duran Family. Meet Rogelio, Ale, Carmen Maria, little Rogelio & José.

Meet Adiba Amelia's Birth Story by photos bycorona

Lately, I have had the honor to photograph several incredible birth stories, but few compare to the beautiful and pure feelings I felt in the delivery room on Monday, October 6. I am so grateful I was able to witness such a miracle. It is always magical to be present at the birth of a baby, and this birth has been especially soothing for my heart during a period of sadness and heartbreak.

||Meet Adiba Amelia Kalusha Ajinwo||  - Millie, you are so loved.
