Mr. & Mrs. Callahan | First Look Session Through Vineyards by photos bycorona

Jen & Jeff

As seen in Utah Bride & Groom

One of my favorite moments to photograph is first look sessions. I wish with all my heart every couple would be super excited to do this! It is such a special intimate unique moment between a couple that I am sure no words can explain how full of emotions that moment is while photographing. You must be wondering, what is a first look session? A first look session is when the bride and groom meet each other before walking down the aisle in a more intimate and genuine setting.

The more weddings I photograph the more I feel like this; your first look; is soon of the key moments of your big day. This moment is full of soul, full of emotions and so so real. Everybody has different feelings about seeing each other before the big day or even before they walk down the aisle and thats okay right?! It is your wedding, and you get to decide what works for you two, what makes it special and yours and whatever is your choice, it is an honor to tell your story!

I am excited to hear your thoughts about this session. Comment at the bottom of this post!

Now, get the scroll down going!

Erica & Nick | Destination Wedding in Costa Rica by photos bycorona

Mr. & Mrs. Hoggan in stunning Costa Rica.

There are so many things I can say about Erica & Nick that will make you want to have them—or will make you feel even more grateful to have them—as part of your life.

Nick and Erica met years ago and later went their own ways, but destiny is a magical, beautiful thing. After crossing paths one more time, they dated for a couple of years and decided to be  with each other forever and join their hearts in gorgeous Costa Rica. From enjoying the beautiful ocean to embracing Costa Rican tropical weather, I was able to be part of their private beautiful sweet intimate reception. Nick and Erica promised love to each other and said their vows out loud on top of a mountain with the green tropical forest in the background.

Where I am from, we believe rain is good luck on your wedding day, and these two got lots of luck during their vows. Through pouring rain and tears rolling down their cheeks, they promised each other true love while beams of sunlight kept trying to filter through the big clouds above us.

Every day I get up to tell stories like theirs. Stories that don't look for perfection but that rejoice in the small things in life while embracing the unknown. I believe in love like theirs, a love that will marry you on top of tropical forest in the pouring rain next to your special people.

Pura Vida to Erica and Nick! I am honored, so honored, to tell your story.

Maria Corona Photography 2017

I have always dreamed about photographing a full wedding on black and white and this year was the year [check!].

There is nothing like finding peers in your industry that you identify with and that you have so much in common.  I believe good energies attract each other and this year was not the exception, I had the beautiful opportunity to work with not only another photographer I admire but another Girl Boss I truly look up to as I continue to grow my business and my dreams. I am a firm believer that life will put several people on our career paths but the good ones, the good energies, the good kind hearts stay, and that is my dear friend Sara Weir.  We had the opportunity to meet at a photography conference in Utah called PhotoNative a couple of years back and since then we grew a beautiful friendship.

When brides and grooms embrace having two photographers to tell their story on such a beautiful day, magic is created! Photographing this San Jose wedding as a second shooter with Sara @saramweir was so good you guys! Especially running to get ice cream when the wedding was over and our feet were swollen.

Wedding: Mr. & Mrs. Seely by photos bycorona

Melissa and Taft’s wedding was an absolute dream in one of my favorite Utah wedding venues: Red Butte Garden. Every detail was fresh, simple and so incredibly beautiful. I mean, just take a look to that breathtaking bridal dress!

I remember the first time I met Taft. He came to a wedding stationary store I used to work a couple of years ago. I helped Taft to design his proposal stationery for the big day, little did I know, I was going to be completely fortunate to tell their love this summer.

So now, go on,  see through images their love, their day, their story.

Cheers to you Mr. & Mrs. Seely!

As featured on Utah Valley Bride this summer.

One Frame: Birthday Girl! 100 Great Years by photos bycorona

Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?

Happy 100 years Aunt Jenny! what an honor it is to photograph a woman like you.

The Asay Family by photos bycorona

I had the opportunity to meet Lauren while we were both in College studying Art. We traveled together to NYC and lived there at the same time. Since then, I have always admired her work and who she is. We both moved to different states and I couldn't be happier to photograph her as a mom while she visited Utah this summer.

The more I have the opportunity to tell stories the more I crave to find out what family love feels and that will always fuel the search to translate those feelings into images to tell YOUR story.

 The Asay Family.

Check out Lauren's amazing work at Ros Co. Design.

Alida & Michael in Central Park, NY by photos bycorona

Alida & Michael

I met Alida & Michael a gorgeous early bright summer morning at Central Park at the Bethesda Fountain. Miraculously, there was almost no people, can you believe it?!  However, there one amazing singer playing the most breathtaking of the love songs.

We had Central Park + morning light + amazing live music.. what else could we have asked for?

Your Inner Light by photos bycorona

As I was laying down ready to sleep, I stumbled upon a short film called: How Society Kills Our Creativity. The more I watched it the more I felt incredibly touched.

The short film perfectly demonstrates what happens when we let external influences dim our inner light, and how it affects the lives of those we love most. <3

I headed over my journal and started writing some thoughts. Sometimes it is hard to be stay brave but it is SO WORTH IT!

Keep shinning friends! Don't let rules dim your light.

Film by Daniel Martinez Lara and Rafa Cano Mendez. Best 7 minutes you will spend on social media today.

The Sukhan Family by photos bycorona

Every time I find myself scrolling through Pinterest or even through the squares of Instagram I always end up feeling the same.. aching for real and raw imagery.  I ache for the lack to tell the true family stories that are perfectly imperfect. So there I was, photographing one of the most beautiful families I have had the chance to tell their story.  The moment they opened their door we felt and instant click, like seriously! It was a-mazing!

So, cheers for beautiful energy! Cheers for the tender yet crazy moments. Cheers for imperfection. Cheers for embracing true stories that make our hearts beat.

Welcome Home Baby Scout. Cheers to you!
